Want to run a blog and earn some extra money online? While this is possible (millions of others are doing it as you read this) you shouldn't expect it to happen overnight, or without a concerted effort on your part.
If you're just starting out I would suggest you set-up a Blogspot blog. They are free and easy to monetize. Blogspot, also called Blogger, is owned by Google so setting up AdSense is really a snap.
A hosted WordPress.org blog is widely felt to be the best way to gain respect and credibility for your blogging, but if the $10.00 or so a month is beyond your reach one of the free blogging platforms is the way to go.
Regardless of which platform you decide to use, the best way to start (I think) is to choose a niche (the subject of your blog) that you have some interest in, or better yet are passionate about. This will make writing content (the hardest part for me) for your new blog much easier. Think about it, if you know your subject matter well you don't have to do much research (if any), you will be able to just write, and that my friend will make your blogging sooo much easier!
You also should keep in mind right from the start how you will monetize your blog. Get into your visitors heads and figure out what they want or need, then your job (as an Internet Marketer) is to supply that want or need (for a price of course!) This is how you will turn your little blog into a money making machine!
Want to work from home, and earn extra money with a blog? Well you can go about this in many different ways, but I think the best way is to run a successful blog. You build your brand, credibility, online presents, and you gotta write a lot (better get used to it!)
If you choose a niche you are passionate about some of your readers will share your passion and become part of your community of like minded individuals. Work within this community, build relationships, cause in the end that's what making money online is all about (to my way of thinking anyways) building relationships, and working with people.
Enjoy your blogging, get good at it, think about traffic and money making opportunities, but don't obsess about it. Who knows you may want to enter a second niche, than a third, heck this could be the start of something big!
